Cleveland Browns wide receiver Dennis Northcutt left Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers with a rib injury. Northcutt left in the third quarter with one catch for 11 yards. He also couldn’t catch a pass from Charlie Frye that bounced off his hands and right to rookie cornerback Richard Marshall, who returned the interception 30 yards for a first-quarter touchdown.

Browns cornerback Gary Baxter was downgraded Saturday from questionable to out because of a strained left pectoral muscle and won’t travel with the team for its game Sunday at Carolina. It will be the third straight game Baxter has missed with the injury. He missed 10 games last season with a torn right pectoral.
