Broncos RB Henry has MRI on knee, ankle (AP)
Denver Broncos running back Travis Henry had an MRI exam on his right knee and right ankle Monday after being injured at Indianapolis. Henry’s status and that of other injured players won’t be known until later this week. Henry ran for 121 yards in the Broncos’ 38-20 loss to the Colts on Sunday before leaving the game cringing after an unspecified injury.

Bears sticking with Griese at QB (AP)
Different quarterback, same result. The Chicago Bears hoped Brian Griese would spark their offense. Instead, he was no better than Rex Grossman. Griese’s performance in Sunday’s 37-27 loss at Detroit probably raised as many questions as it answered, but coach Lovie Smith clarified a few issues on Monday.

Sack-happy Giants shut down Eagles (AP)
Pro Bowl middle linebacker Antonio Pierce was only half kidding, saying the New York Giants could have had 20 sacks against the Philadelphia Eagles. Osi Umenyiora set a team record with six sacks and the Giants tied an NFL record by taking down Donovan McNabb 12 times Sunday night in a 16-3 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Ricky Williams applies for reinstatement (AP)
Suspended running back Ricky Williams applied for NFL reinstatement Monday, his agent said. “Ricky is extremely excited about the prospect of playing in the NFL again and hopeful for a positive response,” agent Leigh Steinberg said. Williams has played in only 12 NFL games since the start of the 2004 season, but rushed for 3,225 yards in 2002-03.
